- Mind Maps: Help children to locate and collect relevant information, sort and classify, explain what they think, apply imagination, generate and extend ideas, and evaluate information.
- PMI: (plus, minus, interesting): Helps children to give reasons for opinions, make informed judgements, generate and extend ideas, sort and classify, evaluate information
- CAF: (consider all factors): Helps children to think of all possibilities, explore options, generate ideas
- FIP: (first important priorities) : Often used after a CAF, as a way to then prioritise important, relevant information
